Trump: Ohio State Terrorist ’Should Not Have Been in Our Country’

President-elect Donald Trump posted Wednesday morning on Twitter, speaking out about Ohio State University attacker, Abdul Razak Ali Artan.

“ISIS is taking credit for the terrible stabbing attack at Ohio State University by a Somali refugee who should not have been in our country,” he wrote:

Trump has said throughout his campaign that there out to be vetting of any Islamic person entering the United States and that there should be a pause on Muslims entering the country from terror-prone Muslim/Islamic countries.

The attacker was a Somali refugee who came to the United States in 2014.

On Tuesday, the ISIS news agency Amaq claimed the attacker was “a soldier of God,” according to the New Yorker. Before the attack, which including stabbing students with a knife and running into people with an automobile, the attacker posted on Facebook. Law enforcement officials have released that post to the public.

“By Allah, we will not let you sleep unless you give peace to the Muslims. You will not celebrate or enjoy any holiday,” he wrote before the attack. “Btw, every single Muslim who disapproves of my actions is a sleeper cell, waiting for a signal. I am warning you Oh America.”
