Kanye West Shocks: I Would Have Voted for Trump, if I Had Voted

Boos and shoes thrown at Kanye as rapper gives hour-long pro-Trump speech

Kanye West has always one to speak his mind, even if people get upset at what he says. Perhaps this endorsement of Donald Trump makes sense when we consider that Kanye has been known for being staunchly anti-political correctness.

Last night he shocked many of his fans, however, when he declared at a Saint Pablo Tour show in San Jose: “I would have voted on Trump.” He went on to praise Trump’s lack of political correctness and desire to help the working class.

“This is my platform and I’m going to talk about the paradigm shift that’s happening right now,” he said at the top of a 40-minute political speech that came at the cost of several songs.

“Whether you voted for Hillary or Trump, this is a safe space for both of you,” he told the audience, asking any Trump voters to make themselves known. He also reiterated his desire to run for president in 2020, saying his focus would be on education and that his campaign would use a different political model.

Kanye seemed happy when a woman yelled, over the booing, that she loved him in spite of his support of Trump’s campaign. At one point someone threw a shoe at Kanye. He promptly signed it and returned it to the owner.
